If union representation is such a bad
thing for Wal*Mart...why is every successful occupational aspect of our society here in
Hawaii belong to a union?
Police men and women who protect you round-the-clock day
and night!
Teachers who instruct your children in Schools and Universities!
Nurses who work at Clinics and Hospitals! Fireman putting out fires!
Bus drivers who transport the population throughout the city!
The City & County of Honolulu! Federal & State workers!
Hotel workers!
Plumbers! Electricians! Carpenters! Mailmen & Women! Pilots and
Stewardess?
Even the GARBAGE MEN have a Union! Why
Don't You? Because Wal*Mart says "you shouldn't ?!"
If Wal*Mart Management says to you "Go Play on the
Freeway!"...Do you do it?
Of course not. You're not Stupid !
So if you decide that you would like the UFCW OHANA to
represent you in getting better wages for the same work you are being
underpaid for now...Management has no reason to interfere with your decision. None whatsoever. Don't they realize
you're not stupid?
Here is something else for you to think about.
Did you know that your Store Manager, your Assistant
Store Manager, The Assistant Management Team and your Department Managers
are all GREAT people? They are!
They are told, by the Walton Family, what to tell you
! Everything management say is what the Walton family want you to
believe ! Everything they say, Whether it's the truth or NOT !
Do you know WHY they would tell you these things? It's
because they are PAID to do it!
Yes! They are paid VERY WELL! Do you think for a
minute, any member of management would bother to come to work for FREE?
Absolutely NOT? They're NOT stupid!
If tomorrow, every member of management were told by the
Wal*Mart corporation that they will no longer get paid for the work they
are doing...how many do you think would bother to stay and do there job?
That's correct...no one would stay!
All the Managers would go home and couldn't care less if
you wanted to have the UFCW OHANA represent you or not!
I know what some of you are thinking. How much does
the management team make?
Store Manager = $100,000+/yr
Assistant Store Manager = $60,000+/yr
Assistant Manager = $35,000+/yr
Department Manager = $25,000+/yr
and that's not counting their yearly ...BONUS!
Associates = MEN $17,600 /yr WOMEN $16,450 /yr
Your decision lies with you and you alone. So what's it
going to be. Are you going to continue to fool yourselves and pretend that
you are doing well. Knowing that some of you are living paycheck to
paycheck, barely scraping by. You know living in Hawaii is not cheap, we
have a very high cost of living here.
Don't you have a right to
choose what is best for you?
Remember, just last year the company made $10
Billion in pure profit alone!
I know of a woman, who works there with you, who is paid so very little, she has to make a decision every month to
partially pay her rent, otherwise she couldn't eat ! She doesn't even make
enough to buy groceries!
That is a shame...a crying shame! How can a retail
business with so much wealth allow something like this to happen among
there own associates? Because they don't care.
If they don't care...who does? The answer is
simple...Your UFCW Ohana!
